Why is Rush Limbaugh filled with seething hatred for Barack Obama

No doubt this is a case of sour grapes, but I can't help but notice that Rush Limbaugh is not a happy camper these days.

Of course, it's well known he backed the wrong horse in the latest presidential campaign but it's also well known he really didn't like the horse he backed. But it's clear now that Barack Obama is the nation's 44th president; it seems to me a man who thought he cynically could manipulate the election process with such schlock as "operation chaos," has had his comeuppance and his own political impotency and irrelevance has been demonstrated.

Let's be clear about something. No doubt, if America is able to rebound from the current economic malaise and turn this economy around, the Obama presidency will be considered a success. Only a few things could mar this: a worsening or collapse of our economy or a major security incidence that results in loss of American lives.

But Limbaugh says he wants Obama to fail, so we must take that to mean he wants to see the American people suffer in some way, either through further economic suffering or the unthinkable, because were the American people to suffer in this way, the Obama would presidency would be considered a failure, and Rush Limbaugh would get his wish.

Gee, thanks Rush. What is it about Obama that fills you with such seething hatred? I'm sure you'd spout some spiel about not hating the man only his ideas, but that's a smokescreen. Truth is, that for all your supposed credentials as America's conservative and perhaps even family values man, you yourself are unable to lead by example. Whereas Barack Obama is a once happily married man with two wonderful daughters, you yourself are divorced three times and childless. And while Obama, like your man George W, can lay blame of past drug abuse on the oft used excuse of youthful indiscretion, you managed to generate headlines in your 50's as a drug abuser.

So, mabye it's that in a very clear light Obama exposes your own hypocrisy and perhaps this is what you hate about him the most?

I'm just saying ...

Death makes angels of us all & gives us wings where we had shoulders smooth as raven's claws ...

The dead are always sacrosanct, whereas the living will always have scorn heaped upon them. Sometimes, one can surmise the best way to be appreciated by those whom we love is to remove ourselves from them; in a sense to underline and put an exclamation point to everything we've ever done, to force them to look back upon the past to remember and cherish that which they took for granted while it still drew a breath.

Jerry's Father & the 4 Noble Truths

Ongoing periods of silence from my own father, whom I will grant I have given reason to be distant from me, inspires me to be calling my own son almost everyday lately. It's not easy to hear from his mother stories of him acting up, acting like I do from time to time, full of self-pity and desperation. I know it's not easy for him, the oldest child among a brood of kids from two different sets of parents. He is facing the onset of puberty and adulthood, and this is not an easy time for him. He is short among his peers, and I know he gets teased about it.

He has said lately, "Life Sucks," and of course I have used this observation of his to remind him what I have explained to him before, the first noble truth of the Buddha: All Life is Sorrowful. It's funny, I remember him one day anguishing before me to tell me something hard to tell, because I had been talking to him about the Buddhist point of view, and he needed to tell me that he goes to church with his mother and they are Christian, and he thought I would be upset that he was a Christian. He was so relieved when I wasn't upset. I told him Buddhism in many ways has no problem with Christianity, they way Christians might have a problem with Buddhism.

Gig

radiance

radiant blue
the sky god & you
beneath wide clouded horizons
these fires aglow in castles & hillside villages

children murmur
among the relics
& undress the night
w/ savage ritual

music is a religion
the inward road
to the sacred soul

our love unites us
across seas frozen by gold
make the world one
make it grow
wings of electric delight.

Spaceball

It's a circle, it's a dot
It's Everything that it's not
And everything that you do, was meant for only you.
And what is is what you get
When you remember you forget

at the Spaceball tonight
everybody is getting round
at the Spaceball tonight
you can feel the sound
of love softly splashing on the ground
at the Spaceball tonight
We'll get it right

And you know it will come around.

and what a fantastic circus
and we're the perfect clowns
reflections in a mirror
from rags to wedding gowns
and the distance between here
& an endless now
is as vast as the Universe
and and tiny as a seed upon the ground

Poem for 9/11/08

9/11/2008

it's been awhile now
since the morning air burned w/sadness

rising plumes of smoke
screaming silver death
& clouds of dust

what god awful thoughts of hell bent minds
that fateful day, riding the bus
talking to strangers, the universe seeming to be
on the edge of irrevocable disrepair

the t.v.'s were on everywhere
no one talked of anything else

we were united in our shock
& disbelief

the twins freedom & enterprise
stand no more;
a scar on history
a sign of misery
forever

what human element
can be factored
what hope can be mustered
for those so desolate
& w/ out hope, or meaning
must succumb to hatred's
fatal grip?

still i rue the way the ragged, proud peoples
scurried after the rats with lusts of vengeance
just as the rats had hoped

the scrawny playground kid who throws rocks at the bullies,
because he wants attention

they were craving attention, any kind of attention
& we gave it to them, 10-fold
chasing after delusional Jedi's
in their rebel caverns, & grimy scenes.

silver linings abound in liberated burkas
the undoing of tyrants
oh the spoils of war
& all her paradoxical glory

can it happen any other way?
could peace be fought & paid for with
non-violence

could the slaves have walked free
not because of Shiloh & Sherman's scorched earth
but by a cold war of bluffing & cool detente?

what implication than for future lives
must bombs of infinite destruction be
forever a possible antidote for mankind.
earth's cursed parasite, or sons of Gods.

We so flatter ourselves, but in the annals of time
what are we but a short term event
in the life of planet, born before time

like the Egyptians, Greeks or the Neanderthals
our fates will studied, our lives will pondered
& represented by half-truths & theories as to why.

Lost In Time ...

lost in time
on the edge of history
or smack dab in the middle
of eternity

searching for something
in the word forests
& dream galleries
of Time's production

looking for identity
in fluid scenes
looking for stability
on hot flowing magma

learning to surf the lava
love the myriad ways
dance with the decay
make peace w/ the motions
of history underway.

from the big bang to the Cosmic Dance
we are just jesters costumed as if to say
we are players in the Greatest Play.
